Susan Stone, the self-proclaimed "Dance of Life Dancer," performs at the St. Louis Zoo while a local band plays during the Jungle Boogie event. Stone shows up at events all around the St. Louis area to dance. Her dancing is controversial, and she has been escorted in handcuffs from public venues. Many people get up and dance with her, while others stand and gawk, laugh and whisper to each other, "Is she a man or woman?" She says her message is simple. She wants people to express themselves through dance and accept one another, despite our racial, religious and gender differences.
