Climate change in Zimbabwe

CRS works with communities in Beitbridge, Zimbabwe, to mitigate impacts of the drought. One way is to encourage communities to work with drought resistant animals and plants. The Shumani Goat production group in Fula village, Beitbridge, is a group of seven women and three men that raise goats together. Goats are a species that naturally do well in droughts, as they don't consume a high amount of greenery. In addition to selling goats, they are breeding them. They have also started a garden to produce food for themselves and to generate modest side income.
