Climate change in Zimbabwe
Pamhedzai Maranga (center), 15, studies in grade 6 at St. Dominic's Primary School in Chireya, Zimbabwe. After a year of little to no rain, most families were unable to harvest anything so they struggle to buy basic school supplies, school uniforms and pay school fees, which are $20 per term. In 2015 only 17 percent of the students were able to pay all of the fees. Headmaster Andersen Tarusenga Mhungu says, "A healthy mind comes from having a balanced diet." The majority of his students don't have enough food in their homes and often don't eat breakfast before arriving to school.
