Climate change in Zimbabwe

Populations of kapenta, a small sardine, in Lake Kariba have been reduced due to overfishing and receding lake levels. Lake Kariba in northern Zimbabwe is one of the country's top tourist destinations. Many foreign and national visitors come to the lake for fishing and to see wildlife, but after several years of drought combined with the affect of El Nino, the level of the lake has decreased, affecting the livelihoods of those in the region who depend on the lake, especially fishermen.
