Haifa, a Syrian refugee living in London, recently began training to be a cooking teacher for Migrateful, a new initiative in London that trains migrant chefs to lead cooking classes. During her training, she prepared molokhiyeh, a dish made with chicken and bitter greens, and falafel. Here she presents the dishes to Migrateful founder Jess Thompson (left) and other chefs-in-training. Migrateful is a cultural exchange designed to help refugee chefs like Haifa integrate, and practice English, while at the same time introducing Brits to migrants, fostering appreciation of the culture that they're bringing to the United Kingdom in a time of increasing anti-refugee sentiment across the country.
