Five Amazonian Manatees released back into the wild

Volunteers and staff at Centro de Rescate Amazónico keep a manatee wet so Laura Zavala can draw blood from the animal two days before it is returned to the wild. Centro de Rescate Amazónico near Iquitos, Perú, released five endangered Amazonian Manatees back into their habitat in the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve after about three years of rehabilitating the rescued mammals. It was the first release in Perú.
