Feb. 5, 2011 - A young girl listens to the lesson after putting her finished art project with the others on display during a Saturday tutoring session at the San Juan Camino de Esperanza church in Lima, Perú. Though the church's congregation has only 13 adult members, about 70 kids come for tutoring every Saturday. Ana Maria Jara Justiniano, a member of the congregation, leads Bible studies, art projects and helps the children with their studies. Most of the kids come from poor areas in the nearby hills, an area where not everyone has running water and electricity. Many of the parents of the children never went to school and are unable to help their kids educationally, even when they have the desire to do so. Photo by Elie Gardner
