Desperate for change in Peru
Supporters of Ollanta Humala listen as he delivers a speech months before the election in Callao, Peru. Humala beat his many opponents and became Peru's president on July 28, 2011. The former military officer and nationalist candidate was the only candidate that promised radical change in government and support for the poor. Peru has experienced a boom in its economy but more than 30 percent of the country still lives in poverty.
