Climate change in Zimbabwe

The families in Gokwe, Zimbabwe, have been hit hard by drought, many of them not harvesting anything this year. Often families struggle to feed their families and their animals are left to fend for themselves, finding food when and where they can, such as these animals. Rainfall patterns have changed and most in Gokwe comment on how cold the temperatures are for late May. Children here wait as their family members attend a monthly SILC meeting. Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC) meet weekly or monthly, and its members give the amount they can. They take turns accessing this pool of money and eliminate the need to rely on big banks and high interest rates.
