Climate change in Zimbabwe

Members attend a SILC group meeting in the kitchen of their leader's home near Gokwe, Zimbabwe. Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC) meet weekly or monthly, and its members give the amount they can. They take turns accessing this pool of money and eliminate the need to rely on big banks and high interest rates. The families in Gokwe have been hit hard by drought, many of them not harvesting anything this year. The SILC group has given them something to lean on and a social support through this economic difficulty.
